Welcome to Doodlebugz Tutoring — where learning is personalized, progress is celebrated, and every child gets to feel like a hero in their own story.
I’m the founder of Doodlebugz and the proud mom of four kids: Nic, Danielle, Mary-Kate and David. This tutoring practice is built on years of experience working with children of all abilities — including those with learning differences like ADHD, autism, and intellectual disabilities. But it’s also built on something deeply personal: the memory of my youngest son, David.
We called him “Davey Doodlebug,” and that’s where the name comes from. David passed away unexpectedly at 10 years old in 2013, but he left behind a legacy of love, laughter, and kindness. He had a huge smile, never met a stranger, and was always looking for ways to help. He was a friend to everyone and a helper by nature.
David also loved superheroes — their courage, their compassion, and their determination to make the world a better place. That’s why Doodlebugz Tutoring is filled with superhero-themed décor and bright, inspiring energy. It’s a space where every student is reminded that they are strong, capable, and—most of all—determined to succeed.
This isn’t just a job — it’s a mission. And it’s one that keeps David’s memory alive through every breakthrough, every high-five, and every child who feels a little more confident walking out the door than they did walking in.
At Doodlebugz, we meet kids where they are and help them grow with patience, creativity, and individualized support. This is more than a tutoring service — it’s a tribute to David’s spirit and a place where his love of helping others lives on.
Thanks for being part of our story.
Warmly,
Melissa Cooper
